In the autumn?
Courses, programs and events will start fully functioning at Aalto Tongji Design Factory in the autumn of 2010. For example, Aalto University School of Art and Design will organize one part of their internationally most renowned study module, User Inspired Design, at ATDF. A number of workshops organized by universities and companies will take place and phase 2 of Aalto LAB continues in the beginning of September. A summer workshop on Public Transport and Land and Sea will be organized in August. A highlight of the autumn will be the 20th Anniversary Conference of Cumulus.

Next year?

During 2011, IDBM (International Design Business Management) Double-Degree Master’s Programme will commence between Aalto University and Tongji University. IDBM programme has been ranked by BusinessWeek among the Top9 Best Design Programs in the world. A IDBM pilot will run in autumn 2010. Simultaneously first joint courses are planned to begin.

These few examples only show the beginning of what can be done together. Aalto-Tongji Design Factory is constantly looking for people, universities and companies interested in interdisciplinary cooperation. And furthermore, no idea is too far-flung for ATDF.  This is the perfect environment to try out ideas that cannot be tested anywhere else.
